Which Paper Size Should You Choose?

A4: The Universal Standard

In India, A4 is the default for study notes, assignments, business documents, and thesis print jobs. Use it when a form, institution or recipient requires full-size pages. Compact A5 has a lower entry B&W rate, so compare the format as well as price.

A3: For Large Visual Work

A3 is useful for drawings, spreadsheets, design presentations, and anything that needs more breathing room than a standard document page.

A5: Compact and Portable

A5 works well for smaller booklets, novels, handbooks, and revision material where portability matters more than full-page scale.

If you are unsure which format fits your order, you can still start with the main document printing flow and choose the paper setup that best matches your file.

Printing an A4 PDF on A5: size and readability

Fitting an A4 portrait page onto A5 reduces its linear dimensions to about 71%. A 12-point font becomes roughly 8.5 points. Preview fine text, table labels and diagrams before choosing the smaller size. A5 is half the area of A4, rather than half its width and height.

For an A4 form or required thesis format, keep A4 and check whether the recipient requires actual size. Use A5 for compact reading notes when the smaller text remains comfortable. Review orientation and margins in the upload preview.

Paper size changes your print cost

A5 B&W starts at ₹0.35/printed page double-sided. A4 75 GSM B&W starts at ₹0.48/page, and A4 75 GSM colour at ₹1/page, double-sided. Compare the full price list or print cost calculator.

This chart explains A3 dimensions for planning. The online document checkout supports A4 and smaller formats; it does not offer A3 poster or drawing printing.

For paper thickness, read the GSM and paper guide. For physical sheets and multiple copies, use the page count estimator.

Yes, but the text will shrink, so the original layout needs to be readable enough before scaling down.
For standard notes, 75 GSM is the default choice. For more premium or double-sided work, higher GSM options are often better.
